Hello everyone. Welcome to the Repair The Roof podcast. This thing comes from President Kennedy’s famous quote, the time to repair the roof is when the sun is shining through the roof podcast is about all thing’s estate planning and overall, I am your host attorney Ted Gudorf. board certified in estate planning by the Ohio State Bar Association and have an advanced Law Degree in elder law. My law firm has been practicing estate planning and elder law in Ohio for over 35 years.
The podcast episodes will last anywhere from 10 to 25 minutes, and we’ll explore different estate planning and elder law topics in a fun but informative format. The podcast will be releasing three episodes every month. We record our blog group we believe that every individual should have a comprehensive and safe estate planning deals with everyone that you love and everything that you own. That’s why it is so important.
A comprehensive plan will necessarily prepare a plan for your eventual incapacity and ultimately your death includes things like a healthcare financial power of attorney Living Will HIPAA authorization, a will and most importantly, a fully funded Trust. Trust based planning will allow you and your family to accomplish your overall estate planning goals, which should include number one, avoiding probate in the event of incapacity or death. Number two, making sure that you save as much in taxes as possible. Number three, protect assets from creditors and or losses during your lifetime for protest creditors for lawsuits during your children’s lifetime. And five, develop a long term care plan in the event of your incapacity.
