When it comes to preparing your own will with online resources, Gudorf said he doesn’t recommend it.
“My experience is bad for those plans,” said Gudorf. ”They typically don’t work because of some mistake that is made.”
Instead of a will you can have a trust.
Gudorf said the advantage is it’ll avoid the probate process that wills have to go through.
If you don’t set up a will or trust, it’s in the state’s hands.
